A personal statement (also known as a manifesto) is every candidate's chance to tell potential voters a little more about themselves and why students should vote for you in the TUSU Elections. It usually outlines a little about your studies, past or current involvement in the Students' Union and the key things you want to try and achieve if you are elected. You can view example personal statements from current Student Officers and other past candidates below and e-mail: elections@tees-su.org.uk if you need more guidance and help with yours. PLEASE NOTE: The personal statement/ manifesto a candidate submits through the self-nomination process should be in .pdf format, have good spelling and grammar and be the same one that they are submitting for review by the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO). You will be given feedback if it does not meet requirements and MUST amend it to our satisfaction before nominations close if you wish to be able to stand in the elections.
