How is my undergraduate degree calculated? Our Degree Classification tool is designed to help you understand what award you might be able to achieve but excludes Integrated Masters awards. It is intended for use with undergraduate bachelor’s awards; however, it would not be suitable to calculate the classifications for an undergraduate award with a placement year or an integrated master's award.
The University normally classifies all bachelor’s degrees (with honours), based on the following bands:
Honours degrees (without a placement year) are calculated by using one of the following methods (you will be awarded the best outcome):
• Method 1: the weighted mean average of the best 100 credits from Level 5 and 6 (Level 5 marks are worth 30%, and the Level 6 marks 70% of your degree classification)
OR
• Method 2: the average from 120 credits from Level 6 only.
Do you want to know how you are doing so far? Or what you need to get in your remaining modules to achieve the 2:1 or 1st you are aiming for?
When using the Degree Calculator tool enter the marks from your online results on e-Vision, which are the raw marks. Full rules on how the University classifies its awards can be found in the Assessment Regulations.
