A very warm welcome to the latest update from Teesside University Students’ Union (TUSU). We get in touch every month of the academic year with our upcoming activities, campaigns, and events unless you ask us to stop by unsubscribing.
We have enjoyed a busy summer of training and development getting ready for the new academic year and cannot wait to get started with representing and supporting all of you in the year ahead. It is an absolute privilege to speak up for Teesside University students and affect positive change on your behalf.
In this edition we are looking ahead to an exciting Semester 1 full of activities, events, and opportunities. We also have more on our upcoming campaigns' work, details of how to access support and information on the various services we provide here at TUSU.

The Terrace (1st floor, TUSU Building) is open seven days a week during semester time. Delicious food is available Monday through Saturday, and there is a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can expect great service and a welcoming atmosphere every time you join us. The SU Shop (ground floor, TUSU Building) is open six days a week (closed Sundays except for special events) during semester time, providing a great range of snacks, drinks, course-related materials and plenty of special offers and discounts to help with the cost of living.

We hope everyone’s having a great start to the academic year but if for any reason you need advice and support remember that TUSU is here to help!
Our SU Student Support (SUSS) service (1st floor, TUSU Building) is run by experienced, professional advisers who specialise in issues around your academic experience and can help with accommodation problems too.
In the event they cannot help you with something, they will do their best to sign post you to a university or external service who can.
The TUSU Breakfast Club is BACK from 1st October every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 8.30am to 10am.
If you’re a current, enrolled Teesside Uni student who can show your student ID to staff, head to The Terrace (1st floor, TUSU Building) to claim a FREE bowl of cereal OR a FREE piece of fruit.

Did you know TUSU has an official podcast with new episodes most months of the academic year! It's a chance to hear from your Student Officers in depth, find out what's been happening and get a preview of what's coming up at TUSU! Your SU works closely with the University and a range of external agencies such as Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire and the NHS to try to keep all students safe and well. It remains important to keep taking sensible precautions to minimise the risk to both yourself and other students.
